The IAAM offers youth and families the opportunity to learn more about African American history and culture in an informal, relaxed environment through our Young Griots Drop-In Workshops.

Through this workshop, participants are transformed into Griots (storytellers) as we explore stories of resistance, empowerment, and hope within African American history through conversations and activities.

Through the Young Griots program, learners will discuss themes, historic moments, and various aspects of African American and African culture to showcase the importance of storytelling and story sharing within the global African diaspora.

The program is offered every Tuesday from 10:30 AM to 1:30PM in our Studio Time room. This program is included with your museum admission ticket!
