Description

Chamber Music Charleston returns to Edisto Island with a nod to the upcoming 250th Anniversary of the United States. The program begins with wind marches from the Revolutionary War era and continues with a wind trio by François Devienne, the 18th-century composer who began in the Military Band of the French Guard and became the first flute professor at the Paris Conservatory after France's revolution. The concert concludes with Beethoven's Op. 87 Wind Quartet, a work that reflects the revolutionary energy and creative transformation of early 19th-century Europe.
