Caregivers Reading Room is a quarterly book club for caregivers, loved ones, and friends of people with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia. Our group is an online space to read, reflect and connect with others on a dementia journey.
Respite Care Charleston invites you to join us virtually as we discuss “I Don’t Want To Talk About It: A Journalist’s Essays on Autism, Dementia, Religion, and God” by award-winning journalist Raphael James.
A broadcast journalist with more than 30 years of experience and main anchor at Live 5 News in Charleston, SC, Raphael James shares a deeply personal journey in this memoir.
James describes his experience as the son of a special-needs father and as the father of a special-needs son. His story goes beyond the man we know from our TV screens, and as his website explains, “gives voice to the truths we’d often rather leave unspoken.”
The author will join us in September as we discuss the honest telling of his story and reflect on our own challenges and journeys. You don’t want to miss this one!
Zoom link will be shared upon registration.
