ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the nerve cells controlling voluntary muscle movement. As these nerve cells break down, people gradually lose the ability to walk, speak, eat, and eventually breathe. Today ALS is 100% fatal and affects about 1 in 300 people, impacting not only those diagnosed but also their families and loved ones. Our mission is to change that. We believe ALS can be transformed from a fatal diagnosis into a livable disease and ultimately cured. By accelerating research and technology and improving treatments and care, we are working toward a future where every person diagnosed with ALS immediately has access to effective therapies, clinical trials, and comprehensive support.
