Violinist Lun Li, First Prize winner of the 2021 International Menuhin Competition, is admired for his glowing tone and poetic musicianship. He is joined by pianist Michael Stephen Brown, an Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient celebrated for his expressive playing and creative versatility as both performer and composer. Together, they return to Charleston to join musicians of CMC for an afternoon of chamber music at the historic Dock Street Theatre. The program features two beloved works of the Romantic repertoire: Fauré’s Piano Quartet No. 1, rich in elegance and lyrical intensity, and Dvořák’s Piano Quintet in A Major, a radiant work filled with warmth, folk-inspired melodies, and rhythmic energy.
