Bye Bye Birdie (Youth Edition) is a loving musical send-up of the early 1960s, small-town America, teenagers, and rock & roll, inspired by the real-life phenomenon of Elvis Presley being drafted into the army in 1957, leaving behind a legion of heartbroken teenage fans. The story follows teen heart throb Conrad Birdie being drafted into the Arm, and his record producer’s idea for a farewell kiss from one lucky member of his fan club before his departure.
