To vote, state law requires a person to register at least 30 days prior to an election. Voters do not register by political party in South Carolina and may vote in either primary election, but not both. Voter Registration Deadlines: Deadline to register in person is Friday, May 8 at 5 p.m. Deadline to register online, by fax or email is Sunday, May 10 at 11:59 p.m. Deadline to register by mail is Monday, May 11 (must be postmarked by this date).
