Artist and curator Mary Walker is pleased to announce her project 10 + 4 + 1: A Collaborative Art Project. The project will have both visual and performance components, and have five associated events. 10 + 4 + 1 will be held during Piccolo Spoleto at the Cannon Street Arts Center from May 22-29.
For the visual component, Walker selected 10 visual artists that she has known and admired over the years, each accomplished in their respective fields. Each pair has one 2D and one 3D artist so that they will be working outside their normal practice. She paired Linda Fantuzzo & Joe Walters, Lese Corrigan & Hirona Matsuda, Kristi Ryba & Jeff Kopish, Herb Parker & Yvette Dede, and herself with David Higginbotham. “It will be exciting to see what they produce,” says Walker. The exhibit will kick off with a family friendly event at 5:00 on May 22nd. Children and adults of all ages will have a chance to collaborate with artists involved with the project, and make something of their own.
